WordCamp London 2019

I am super proud to be able to say that I am one of the organisers of WordCamp London 2019!

WordCamp London has always been such a special conference. Over the years I’ve attended, I’ve met so many great people and learnt so much. It is fantastic to have the opportunity to be able to give back in some small way.

This year’s WordCamp London will be held on 5th, 6th & 7th April 2019 at London’s Metropolitan University

But, What is WordCamp London?

If you are not aware, WordCamp London is a 3 day event held over a weekend for anyone with an interest in WordPress. It is described on the 2019.london.wordcamp.org website as:

WordCamp London (WCLDN) is a community volunteer organised WordPress event which has been running since 2013. It is aimed at anybody who uses, builds or simply has an interest in WordPress including bloggers, designers, developers and end-users. All levels of experience from beginners through to professionals and all ages are warmly welcomed.

What am I doing?

Mostly, I’ve been a part of the website team. I created the plane animation in the header and generally help keep things tidy by updating the CSS as content gets added to the site.

As well as this I’m the key person keeping an eye on the mobile solution that will be made available during the conference. Whether that’s the new PWA that WCEU are currently creating, the WordCamps App or changing the site configuration to show the schedule instead of the whole site (This is still to be determined). I will also be volunteering over the weekend as well.

The schedule for the weekend has now been announced and it looks amazing! If you haven’t got yourself a ticket yet then there is still time!

Come and find me at WordCamp London 2015

If you fancy coming along to my talk, you can find me in the “developer” lightning track on the Sunday: http://london.wordcamp.org/2015/schedule/

My talk will be a shorter version of the one I did for WordCamp Birmingham. Here is a quick overview:

Catering for WordPress

The catering / restaurant industry has very few tools to help them create / store recipes, plan menus and work out costings that can be shared with members of staff and other branches of a chain.

This talk will be a whistle stop tour of how WordPress was used to create an intranet for businesses in the restaurant / catering industry. Some of the features include help plan and budget dishes and menus, work out costings for bulk recipes down to individual portions and include other factors such as VAT and a variable gross profit.

I will be there all weekend (well from Saturday to Sunday) so whether you come and see my talk or not, please do say hello! 🙂
