As I’m sure many of you are aware, I do much more than just WordPress development these days. I now also work with Magento 2 doing frontend development for Fisheye Webdesign.
As part of the development process it is important to understand the set of frontend tools used to compile SASS and create the necessary symlinks for the styles to be applied.
Frontools is a set of tools created by Snowdog, a Magento Agency in Belgium, designed to do just that. They were created as part of a community project Snowdog spearheaded to port the base theme that ships with Magento 2 from LESS to SASS and use the Gulp task runner.
Although documentation is getting better, when I first needed to learn how to use these tools, there was very little information available. therefore, I decided to pick it apart to understand what each feature could do. The result is this blog post on the Fisheye blog: Using Frontools out of the Box.
